2. Horse equipment

How do I choose the size of my protective gear?

A size guide is available directly on each product page to help you make your choice.

As conformation can vary from one horse to another, please also remember to take its size and build into account.

If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact me before ordering: I will be able to help you choose the most suitable size.

My horse is between two sizes, which one should I choose?

The choice depends on the protection model and your horse's build. Two horses of the same height can have very different legs!

If you are hesitating between two sizes despite the guide available on the product page, contact me before placing your order and let me know which model you are interested in along with some information about your horse. I will be happy to advise you.

How do I maintain my Coyonic protective gear?

After use, remember to remove sand, dirt, and hair from your protectors.

For a more thorough cleaning, you can easily rinse them thoroughly with a water hose. Then, make sure to let them dry completely before storing or reusing them.

Regular maintenance helps keep your protectors clean for longer and prevents dirt from causing friction on your horse's legs.

How do I maintain my resistance bands?

Before washing, be sure to remove any sand, dirt, and hair from the bandages.

The bandages can be machine washed at a low temperature, with a gentle spin cycle, to best preserve the materials and colors.

Then, let them dry properly before storing or reusing them.

What is the difference between polo wraps, brushing boots, and bell boots?

These three types of protection do not serve exactly the same function.

Bandages are primarily used to provide support to the tendons during work. However, they offer less protection against direct impacts.

Boots are more designed to protect the limbs against impacts. Depending on their design and whether they pass under the fetlock, they can also provide slight support to the limb.

Bell boots, for their part, serve to protect the hoof, and in particular its rear part. They are particularly useful for horses that tend to overreach or strike their front limbs with their hind limbs during work.

Are the colors exactly the same as in the photos?

I do my best to photograph the products and present their colors as accurately as possible.

However, slight differences may appear depending on the lighting during the shoot, as well as your screen's settings and brightness.

Can I use the pads daily?

Protective gear must always be used in a way that is appropriate for your horse, the discipline practiced, and the specific model chosen.

Before each use, check that they are clean, correctly positioned, and properly adjusted, in order to avoid rubbing or pressure points.

3. Refreshing product

How do PVA cooling products work?

Our cooling products use PVA technology and the natural principle of evaporative cooling.

The fabric absorbs and retains a large amount of water. This then gradually evaporates and absorbs heat in the process, thereby creating a cooling effect when in contact with the animal. It is a principle comparable to the natural mechanism of perspiration.

Cooling works simply thanks to water and its evaporation: there is no need to place the product in the refrigerator or freezer.

How do I activate and reactivate the cooling effect?

It’s very simple! You just need to completely saturate the product with water.

You can either let it soak for 1 to 2 minutes, or wet it thoroughly under a running tap until the fabric is fully soaked.

Then, wring it out very gently, just to remove excess water. The goal is definitely not to wring it out completely: the PVA must retain enough water to allow for evaporation.

When the cooling effect decreases or the fabric starts to dry out, simply wet it again to reactivate it. This principle of reactivation by simply adding water is characteristic of PVA cooling textiles.

How long does the cooling effect last?

The duration depends heavily on external conditions, particularly heat, sun exposure, and ventilation.

In very hot, direct sunlight, count on about a minimum of 2 hours. In better conditions—in the shade, in a ventilated environment, and at lower temperatures—the effect can last up to 6 to 8 hours.

There is therefore no real fixed duration: as long as the product remains sufficiently damp, the evaporation principle continues to work.

When the fabric begins to dry, simply re-wet it.

When can you use a cooling product?

They are particularly useful during hot weather, but not only then.

You can use them in particular before or after a competition, after exertion, during certain phases of transport, or simply on very hot days. For dogs, the mat can also provide comfort at home or after a walk.

During prolonged transport, however, remember to regularly check the product's moisture level and stop to re-wet it if necessary.

⚠️ The cooling rug for horses must not be used while working or left on an unsupervised horse, for example in the pasture for several hours.

There is no specific maximum duration of use: the important thing is to monitor the animal and regularly check that the product remains damp.

How do I choose the right size?

For horses, choose the size as you would for a standard rug, by referring to your horse's usual size and the size guide available on the product page.

For dogs, the mat is currently available in two sizes: M and L. The dimensions are indicated on the product page to help you choose.

Ideally, your dog should be able to lie down completely on the mat, while still allowing you to cover them with it when you wish to use it in that way.

Will the product get my pet wet?

No, if it is prepared correctly.

Once the product is completely soaked, you must wring it out gently to remove excess water. The fabric then retains the water necessary for it to work without dripping on your horse or dog.

PVA is particularly absorbent and can hold a lot of water while remaining relatively dry to the touch.

How do I wash and store my cooling product?

To preserve your product, we recommend hand washing with water alone or with a product suitable for hand washing.

Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and do not use fabric softener.

For end-of-season storage, fold the product before it has become completely dry and rigid, then store it in its pouch.

You can then place the pouch in a dry area, such as near a window, so that residual moisture can gradually evaporate before long-term storage.

When you next use it, simply rewet the PVA to restore its suppleness — it is normal for PVA fabric to become rigid when it dries.

4. Personalization & embroidery

Which products can be customized?

Several products in the shop can be personalized:

  • Halter headcollars: customization is possible on the noseband as well as on the two side cheekpieces.
  • Dog collars: embroidery is done directly around the collar.
  • Keychains: you can choose to personalize only the front or the front and the back. Both sides can feature the same text or two different customizations.

The options offered may vary depending on the product and its size.

How many characters can I have embroidered?

For halters in sizes S, M, and L, embroidery is limited to a maximum of 25 characters.

If you would like a longer text, please do not hesitate to contact me before ordering. Depending on your request, it may be possible to adjust the embroidery size to fit more characters.

For dog collars, the limit is also 25 characters.

For products with a smaller embroidery surface, particularly Pony/Colt halters and keychains, the number of possible characters may be lower. The size of the available area determines the length of text that can be embroidered.

Which font is used and which characters can I choose?

For the time being, only one embroidery font is offered in order to maintain a harmonious look suitable for the different products.

You can use letters, numbers, accents, and special characters.

New fonts may possibly be added to expand customization options in the coming months.

What are the different types of embroidery thread?

A very large selection of colors and several finishes are available:

Classic threads have the traditional look of embroidery thread. They naturally possess a slight sheen.

Metallic threads have much more pronounced metallic reflections and catch the light more.

Glitter threads combine a colored thread with small touches of glitter to achieve a sparkling finish.

Neon threads offer particularly bright and highly visible colors, ideal for personalization that does not go unnoticed.

Finally, the glow-in-the-dark thread appears white in daylight. After being exposed to light, it emits a slight yellowish glow in the dark.

How do I choose the colors for my customization?

All combinations are possible! You can replicate a combination you spotted in Our creations or let your imagination run wild.

To help you, I have also created a preview tool that allows you to test different combinations of product, band, and embroidery colors before ordering.

If, while preparing your order, I notice that two colors are too similar or that the embroidery may not stand out enough on the chosen band, I will contact you before starting production. We can then discuss it together and, if you wish, change one of the colors.

Does the preview tool show exactly the final result?

The tool is designed to give you a good overview of your future customization, but it cannot reproduce the final result exactly.

Colors may vary slightly between your screen and reality depending on brightness, your screen settings, as well as the texture of the materials and embroidery threads.

The font shown in the tool is also a visual representation and may differ slightly from the actual embroidery finish.

Can I reproduce a customization seen in "Our projects"?

Of course! This gallery is specifically there to give you ideas and help you find your favorite combinations.

If the colors used are still available, you are more than welcome to recreate a combination that you like. And since your text will be your own, your creation will remain personal regardless.

What is the lead time for receiving a personalized product?

The production time for a personalized product can take up to 15 business days.

For halters and collars, you can choose the Express Embroidery option when placing your order. For an additional €5, your order will be prioritized and will be embroidered, sewn, and shipped within 5 business days of your order.

Keychains have a lead time of up to 15 business days and are not currently eligible for the Express Embroidery option.

Can I change my customization after ordering?

Yes, as long as the embroidery has not yet begun.

If you notice an error or change your mind about your text or colors, please contact me as soon as possible via email, Instagram, or Facebook.

Once embroidery has begun, certain changes will unfortunately no longer be possible. The sooner you contact me after placing your order, the easier it will be to find a solution.

What happens if I make a mistake in my personalization text?

Before confirming your order, please make sure to thoroughly proofread the text you have entered. The embroidery is created based on the information provided during your order.

If you notice an error, please contact me as soon as possible: as long as the embroidery has not yet begun, we will be able to correct it.

If an embroidery error is my fault, I will naturally cover the correction as well as any costs necessary to bring your product into compliance.

However, if the product was embroidered according to the text provided during the order, any subsequent modification may result in rework and shipping costs, which can be reviewed in the "returns" section.

Can I return or exchange a personalized product?

As personalized products are made specifically to your choices, they cannot be returned or exchanged.

Of course, if the product has a manufacturing defect or a personalization error on my part, please contact me so that I can find a solution and handle the correction.

5. Halters, lead ropes & collars

How do I choose the right size for a Valhoma halter?

Valhoma halters are available in 7 different sizes, to fit everything from very small ponies to draft horses:

  • Pony: a very small size, particularly suited to miniature horses such as the American Miniature Horse.
  • Colt: suitable for foals, Shetlands, and small section B ponies.
  • Yearling: originally designed for yearlings, but can also fit large section B ponies and section C ponies.
  • S: generally suitable for section D ponies.
  • M: for small horses, particularly Quarter Horse-type horses.
  • L: for larger horses.
  • Draft: specially designed for draft horses.

These indications are provided as a guide: every horse's build is different.

I have therefore personally measured every halter size from A to Z and all dimensions are available on the product page. To choose the best fit, the ideal method is to take a halter that already fits your horse perfectly, measure it, and compare its dimensions with the table.

What is the particularity of the Pony and Colt sizes?

Pony and Colt halters are designed for smaller heads and are also thinner.

Their nylon is 2 cm wide, compared to 2.5 cm for sizes Yearling, S, M, L, and Draft.

This difference also affects personalization: as the color band is narrower, the embroidery will necessarily be smaller than on larger sizes.

Do Coyonic and Valhoma halters fit the same way?

No. Coyonic halters generally run larger.

As a guide:

S Coyonic ≈ M Valhoma

M Coyonic ≈ between M and L Valhoma

L Coyonic ≈ L Valhoma, with an overall more generous fit

These comparisons are for guidance only. The most reliable method is to consult the detailed size charts available on the product pages and compare them with a halter your horse already wears.

How do I choose the right size collar for my dog?

The dimensions for each size are indicated on the product page, with the measurement corresponding to the minimum and maximum adjustment of the collar.

You can either measure your dog's neck circumference, or measure a collar they already wear that fits them perfectly, then compare with the chart.

If your dog is between two sizes, do not hesitate to send me their measurements before ordering so that I can advise you.

Are Valhoma halters guaranteed?

Yes. Valhoma halters come with a manufacturer's warranty against defects in workmanship.

If you encounter a problem or breakage that seems unusual, please contact me by sending photos of the halter and the affected area, along with the circumstances in which the problem occurred.

I will then forward your request to Valhoma, who will determine whether the problem can be covered under warranty.

⚠️ The warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear or misuse, including breakage caused by a horse pulling on its halter. Coverage therefore depends on the origin of the breakage and remains subject to the brand's approval.

What are the characteristics of the lanyards?

Coyonic and Valhoma lead ropes are 2.50-meter nylon leads, equipped with heavy-duty hardware.

There is currently only one length available: therefore, you do not have to choose between several sizes when placing your order.

How do I maintain and store my halter or lead rope?

Of course! This gallery is precisely here to give you ideas and help you find your favorite combinations.

If the colors used are still available, you can absolutely reproduce a combination that you like. And since your piece will be your own, your creation will remain personal regardless.

You can wash your halter or lead rope by hand, in a bucket of water, with or without detergent.

I advise against using a traditional washing machine, mainly to avoid damaging the buckles and other metal parts.

However, if you have a machine specifically designed for cleaning equestrian equipment, such as a My Groom-type machine, washing the halter is possible.

To preserve the colors as long as possible, also remember to store your equipment out of direct sunlight when you are not using it.

Some pigments are particularly sensitive to prolonged UV exposure, especially shades containing red pigments: pink, red, burgundy, etc. Constant exposure to the sun can gradually alter their color.

Are the halters and collars adjustable?

Yes. The halters and collars have various adjustment options, within the limits specific to each size.

The minimum and maximum dimensions are indicated on the product pages so you can verify that the model will suit your horse or dog.

If you are hesitant between two sizes, simply send me your measurements before ordering: I will be able to help you determine which one will be the most suitable.

Can I buy a halter without embroidery?

Of course! Personalization is absolutely not mandatory.

You can certainly choose a halter without embroidery, especially if you are simply looking for a beautiful halter for your horse.

Valhoma halters are particularly interesting if you are looking for a high-quality American halter, with high-grade nylon and finely crafted brass hardware, without necessarily wishing to personalize it.
